WANA (Apr 17) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday, delivering a written message from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The meeting took place during Araghchi’s official visit to Russia at the head of a high-level diplomatic delegation.

 

During the meeting, Araghchi conveyed Iran’s views and positions on a wide range of issues, including bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and international affairs. He emphasized the strategic importance of the comprehensive partnership treaty currently being pursued between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

Highlighting Tehran’s commitment to enhancing cooperation, Araghchi reiterated Iran’s determination to strengthen and expand its ties with Russia at all levels, calling the strategic partnership the most significant symbol of the two nations’ cooperation.

 

President Putin, for his part, conveyed his greetings and wishes of good health to the Supreme Leader of Iran. He reaffirmed the importance of the Iran-Russia strategic partnership, stating that closer ties between the two countries, along with greater coordination on regional and international matters, serve the interests of both nations and contribute to peace and stability.

 

In addition to bilateral issues, the two sides discussed regional threats, the latest developments regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Iran’s nuclear program, and other international matters.
